AYSO is an All-Volunteer organization. Our program relies on volunteers to serve as board members, coaches, referees, and team managers. We hope that you will consider joining us.
To be considered for a volunteer position with AYSO Region 177, you must complete the following:
- Submit a Volunteer Application via the Sports Connect Registration Management System (RMS)
- Coaches must submit an application every season
- Referees must submit annually in the current member year program (e.g. MY2026 Board Member & Referee Program) OR through the current season (e.g. Fall Core, EXTRA, or Spring Academy)
- Submit and pass a Sterling Volunteers Background Check
- Complete an in-person Live Scan fingerprinting at American Health Biometrics or at an AYSO fingerprinting event
- We will provide fingerprint captures at certain group events (coaches meetings, and so on)
- You may get your fingerprinting performed at American Health Biometrics (linked above) and please inform them you are with AYSO Region 177 so the cost will be covered by the region.
- If you do get yourself fingerprinted on your own, you may request reimbursement for the cost. It is also VERY IMPORTANT that you provide the following code to the fingerprint provider so that the results get routed to AYSO - code AA498 ( Find a local finger print provider)
- Minors under age 18 and 8U referees are not required to complete this step
- Complete the four online courses under the "Safe Haven" umbrella
- AYSO's Safe Haven (AYSOU)
- CDC Concussion Awareness (AYSOU)
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest (AYSOU)
- SafeSport (accessed from the volunteer menu)
- Complete ALL volunteer specific training (i.e. Coach, Referee, Board Member)
- Coach and Referee training requires an online course and an In-Person Class/Field session (enroll in AYSOU)
- 8U referees only require an online course (AYSOU)
