What is Spring Academy?
AYSO 177 Spring Academy is a 9-week program run by AYSO Region 177 in collaboration with First Touch Soccer professional trainers to help players develop and enhance fundamental skills through both drills and scrimmage sessions.  There are no official teams in Spring Academy.  There are two clinic sessions per week (only one weekday session for age U6 and below), and one scrimmage held on Saturdays. 

The mission is to improve players' skills through high-quality intensive technical training. This skill-focused player development program is for motivated and dedicated soccer players of all ages and allows players to compete and train with players of similar skill. Grouping older players by skill level, strong players are not able to dominate play and will allow players who are still developing skills to get more opportunities on the ball which will accelerate their development. Strong players will be challenged at their level allowing their skills to progress. 

When is Spring Academy?
The Spring season is typically held from March through May with a week off that coincides with LBUSD spring break.  For specific dates, see the "Important Dates" section.

What do players receive?
1 Academy Uniform Shirt
1 Soccer Ball
1 Fun Spring Season with tons of quality ball time!

What should players bring to training sessions and scrimmages?
Players are required to dress in their Academy Uniform shirt to all practices and games
Ball, Cleats, Shin guards, Water, any socks that cover shin guards

Below times/days are subject to change. We may need to balance groups based on registration numbers.

Saturday, March 7th you will receive your training jersey at orientation. There will be NO training this day, only equipment pickup.
Training sessions will begin the week of March 9.
The first day of scrimmages will be held on March 14.
No training sessions or scrimmages will be held April 4-11 due to LBUSD spring break.
The final day of scrimmages will be on Saturday, May 16.

9 am: U4-U10 (Born Mar 6, 2023 - July 31, 2017)
10:30 am: U11-U16 (Born August 1, 2017 - July 31, 2010)

Please Note: There is NO PRACTICE this day

What to Bring to Orientation:
Nothing! We have your forms and no equipment or paperwork is needed this day.
