2026 Region 177 Beach Classic, AYSO Open Invitational Tournament

Welcome, and thank you to all participating teams. We’re looking forward to another exciting weekend of soccer in Long Beach. This page will be updated as we get closer to the tournament, please bookmark it for the latest information.

Tournament Registration Update

All divisions are currently FULL, with waitlists of approximately 4–5 teams per division, except for U9/U10 Boys, which has 1 remaining spot available.

Teams are accepted strictly on a first-come, first-served basis based on receipt of:

A completed application
Full payment
A confirmed referee crew commitment (teams with full referee crews are prioritized)

Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Incomplete applications or unpaid teams will not hold a spot.

As openings occur, teams will be contacted from the waitlist in the order of fully completed submissions.

Team Check-in, Procedures & Checklist

Everything your team needs for a smooth check-in at the Beach Classic. Please arrive early, parking will be busy near the fields.

Team Check-in Procedures

1, Arrive early
Arrive one (1) hour before your team’s scheduled kick-off for your first game. Anticipate congested parking at and near the fields.
2, Meet at the check-in tent
Meet with your team at the check-in tent. Players arriving late must check in at the tent before their first game.
3, Bring required items
Each team is required to provide the following at check-in:
- Current team roster, and
- Four (4) game cards (lineup cards) with all players listed
- Game cards are available here (print double-sided, cut into four cards).
4, Wristbands & pins
Wristbands will be issued at check-in and must be worn for the duration of the tournament weekend. If a player loses a wristband, they must be checked in again to receive a replacement. Coaches will also receive tournament pins at check-in and must initial that the pins have been received.

Reminder: Check-in is required only before the first game. Subsequent games, even at different fields, do not require check-in unless a player has not yet been checked in.

Team Checklist

Each team must bring the following to the tournament:

Alternate uniforms or pinnies (HOME team must change in the event of a color conflict)

Beach Classic Open Invitational, Tournament Details

Everything teams need to know about the 2026 AYSO Region 177 Beach Classic.

Scope

AYSO Open Invitational, open to AYSO teams from all Sections.

When

Saturday & Sunday, Feb 21–22, 2026. No rain dates; the tournament will be cancelled in the event of a rainout.

Where

Various public school fields in close proximity (no parking fee). No pets are allowed at fields.

Who

AYSO boys and girls teams in age divisions: U12/U11 (9v9, 12 players max) and U10/U09 (7v7, 10 players max). All players must have been registered in their organization’s just completed primary season.

What

Pool play tournament. Each team is guaranteed 3 games. Top teams advance to the medal round on Sunday afternoon. Game length: 40 minutes for U12 and 40 minutes for U10.

Why

Fundraiser conducted by Region 177 to support Field Development, Equipment & Maintenance, and scholarship funds for youths in Region 177.

Awards

All players and two coaches per team receive a tournament t-shirt and pin. Players finishing 1^st and 2^nd in each flight receive a trophy or medal.

Entry Fee & Refunds

$550 for 9v9 and $500 for 7v7. Full refund if the tournament is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled (minus $35 fee). Withdrawals 14+ days before the tournament receive a refund (minus $35 fee). Within 14 days, refunds only if a replacement team is found (minus $35 fee).

Referee Deposit & Refunds

$300 referee deposit, refundable within 14 days of tournament completion if obligations are met. Teams are asked to provide a 3-person referee crew qualified to cover games at the same level of entry. Partial refunds are based on the number of game slots completed.

Acceptance

Application deadline is February 6, 2026. Teams will be notified within 72 hours of the deadline or receipt of application (whichever is later). Teams not accepted may choose a full return of their application or placement on the waiting list.

How

All necessary forms are available on the tournament website. Team applications are handled online and emailed upon completion.

Please submit one Region or Organization check covering both team entry and referee fees, along with signed applications and referee information. Checks should be payable to AYSO 177 Beach Classic Tournament. Team rosters are due at check-in.
